Waxberry seems to be able to cater to all. Only one，sweet and sour, full of juice, seems to do away with the hellish heat in the rainy season of June . It can not only meet stomachs of domestic consumers , but also satisfy tongues of overseas consumers.
On 13th June , XianJu, Zhejiang , China Waxberry Town, has realized the first export of waxberries by JiuYe supply chain.
It is reported that the company's first export destination is Canada, which has a total of 600 boxes weighing 1800 kilograms . The vale of the cargo is 20,000 US dollars. Last year ,Xianju Dongkui wax berries have been successfully exported to Canada and Hongkong , but the weight is only 1515 kgs. But when the reputation increases rapidly in the domestic and foreign market , Xianju has three more waxberry plantations specializing in export this year and foreign trade booms as orders soar.
Biqi and Dongkui are two main varieties of bayberries in Taizhou, Zhejiang. The diameter of the former reaches about 2.6 cm, small in black color with the shape of Biqi , water chestnut. The diameter of the latter is about 3.6 cm , like a table tennis, meaning "East First". The mature period of Biqi is generally in early June, 10 days ahead of Dongkui .
In fact, although there are many advantages of wax berries, they are hard to keep fresh because of their fragile tissue and the hot rainy season they are collected. All these result in the difficulties in storage and transportation. Therefore, logistics and packaging are important factors that effect development of wax berry economy. Among them, the cold chain transportation is the critical part.
JiuYe supply chain sets up in Xianju a special point to get wax berries. According to the person in charge of wax berry project , the modes of operations are: wax berries will be pre-cooled for certain time after picking, then packaged air-proof with customized ice bags. JiuYe supply chain will send them to the destination ensuring the low temperature environment in a rapid exchange process between refrigerator cars and distribution centers . Cold chain can be realized to make sure a best transport temperature of 1℃~5℃ during the whole process.
JiuYe supply chain has 14 fresh distribution centers and 500 cold chain lines in the country. Waxberry distribution range has increased to 33 cities this year, among which 22 first-tier cities can be delivered the other day. JiuYe supply chain, in the director’s words, can ensure the freshness of wax berries in transportation to mouth or house through its strong cold chain delivery network.
In recent years, the industry of waxberry in XianJu has developed rapidly. The current planting area covers 13.8 million mu and area of 125000 acres has put into production. It is expected to produce about 90,000 tons annually, with the value of the output about 600 million yuan. The industry of waxberry in XianJu has two processing lines with total investment of 100 million yuan ,which rank first in the country in addition to plantation ,production,and postpartum commercial processing capacity.
The wax berry industry is an important economic part in XianJu. JiuYe supply chain will use its own ability--cold chain logistics and distribution system- to expand its sales areas in China. At the same time, JiuYe supply chain will also take advantage of their own overseas warehouses to sell Xianju wax berries to more countries and regions.
